NAD Uganda

NAD Uganda is the Uganda Country Office of the Norwegian Association of Disabled (NAD), an international disability rights organization committed to promoting the inclusion, participation, and empowerment of persons with disabilities. Our vision is a society for all, where persons with disabilities have the same opportunity as other people to live according to their own wishes, abilities and interests. 

NAD has maintained a strong presence in Uganda since 1987 working in partnership with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, communities, and other stakeholders to advance disability-inclusive development and ensure that persons with disabilities enjoy their rights on an equal basis with others.  

The Country Office serves as a hub for program implementation and partnership coordination, and our interventions are implemented across different regions of Uganda, reaching children, youth, women, and men with disabilities, as well as their families and communities. These interventions include Inclusive Education, Human Rights Advocacy, Economic Empowerment, Inclusive Climate Change Adaptation and Health and Rehabilitation, Reasonable Accommodation and Community Based Inclusive Development.
